Cryogenic & Nickel Steel Plate · cryogenic-service plate for LNG and ethylene storage tanks, air-separation cold boxes, and cryogenic transport and fuel tanks
1.1 This specification covers double-normalized and tempered 9 % nickel steel plates intended particularly for welded pressure vessels for cryogenic service. 1.2 Plates produced under this specification are subject to impact testing at -320°F [-195°C] or at such other temperatures as are agreed upon. 1.3 The maximum thickness of plates is limited only by the capacity of the material to meet the specific mechanical property requirements. 1.4 This material is susceptible to magnetization. Use of magnets in handling…

Mechanical requirements for the thickness ranges shown. Impact testing is carried out at the temperature specified for the grade.
A353 is normally specified for LNG and ethylene storage tanks, air-separation cold boxes, and cryogenic transport and fuel tanks.
We supply it cut to size by plasma, laser or waterjet, with edges machined or flame-cut to your drawing, and can deliver in the heat-treatment condition your fabrication procedure requires.
Quenched and tempered or normalized as specified, with impact testing at the service temperature of the grade carried out on each heat-treatment lot.
Full Charpy V-notch impact series at service temperature; EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2 mill test certificate; 9 % Ni plate supplied with qualified welding procedure support; UT to EN 10160 and PWHT simulation on request
Seaworthy packing — bottom skids, steel strapping, VCI film and edge protection — is standard for sea freight. Container loading plans with piece weights are issued before shipment.
Send the grade or the standard you specify, the thickness range, quantity and destination port. We reply with price, lead time, delivery term and the applicable certificate within 12 hours (Mon–Sat, GMT+8).
